英国のコレクターNさんから購入しました。
I bought it from Mr. N, a collector in England.
Nさんからも特に説明はありませんでした。
Mr. N didn’t give me any particular explanation.
プーマでイタリア製？これしか知らない…。
Is it a Puma and made in Italy? This is all I know….
（こちらもプーマのイタリア製でした）

意外にもジョージ・ベスト選手の実使用スパイクです。
Surprisingly, these are the actual spikes of George Best.
ベスト選手といえばスタイロ？正直まったく知識がありませんでした。
Speaking of Best, is Stylo? I honestly had no knowledge of them at all.
最近、「先生」からスタイロのスパイクをいくつか譲っていただいたので、それについてはいずれご紹介するとして、ベスト選手がプーマを使っていたのか調べてみました。
I was recently given some Stylo boots by my “teacher of the vintage boots” and I’ll get to that in due course, but I tried to find out if he used Puma boots.
まずいつ、どこのチームでプレーされていたのか？
First of all, when and where did they play for the team?
マンUと北米リーグで活躍されたことぐらいしか知らなかったんですが、所属したクラブの多さに驚きました。
I only knew that he played for Man U and the North American Soccer League, but I was surprised at the number of clubs he played for.
確かに引退後の親善試合などではプーマをご使用だったようです。
It seems that he did indeed use Puma for friendly matches after he retired.

こちらもアズテックス時代で黄色ラインのプーマを愛用されています。

晩年はプーマがお好きだったと思いきや、

1963年 プロデビューされたころもプーマっぽいです。
When he made his professional debut in 1963, he was also a Puma-like person.
意外とプーマにゆかりのある方だったんですね。
I’m surprised that he was related to Puma.
さて、CHICOというプーマのモデル名はかなり昔からあるようで、
Well, CHICO is a Puma model name that has been around for a long time.

スペイン語で小さいとか子供の意味があるそうで、ポルトガル語ではFranciscoのニックネームだそうです。
They say it means small or child in Spanish, and in Portuguese it’s a nickname for Francisco.
モデル番号は490番台なので、プーマの高級ラインだと思うのですが、なぜそのモデル名になったのか？ナゾ多きモデルです。
The model number is in the 490s, so I think it’s a high-end line of Puma models, but how did they come up with that model name? This is a model with many riddles.
