プーマの不朽の名作スパイクと言われるパラメヒコですが、私はそのデビュー時（1986年頃）にまさしくサッカーにのめり込んでいました。
大学生でしたので、多少バイト代もあり、自分でスパイクを購入していた（と思う）ので、買うことはできたはずですが、一切興味がありませんでした。
なぜなら同時代に販売されていた西ドイツ製モデルに長い間憧れていたのと、やはり神は西ドイツ製を履いており、日本製のパラメヒコが、いくら最高級の材質で、デザインも西ドイツ製とそっくりでも、わざわざそれを買おうとは思いませんでした。
それは社会人になってからも変わらなかったのですが、愚息がサッカーを始め、高校生ぐらいからはパラメヒコを履きたいと言い出しました。
初めは、何を生意気になどと思っていましたが、そのうち親の方が楽しくなり、なるべく安く手に入れるために結構ネットショップにはまっていました。
（愚息用に最後に買ったスパイク。使う前に最後の大会が終わってしまい、新品で残っています。アルゼンチン結びはあとからやってみました）
その頃は知らなかったのですが、パラメヒコがカラフル！
昔は黒に白ラインしかなかったのに。
まあ同じスパイクですから、履けば一緒なんでしょうが、自分では履けないなあと思っていました。
現在は黒に白ラインしかなく、ずっと生産してほしいとは思いますが、今も特に強い思い入れはなく、配色やソールが特徴的なもの（これとかこれ）は気が向いたら集めています。

こちらでは中山選手モデルを紹介しています。
デュエは中山選手しか履いていないと思っていたのですが、福西選手も履いていました。
その他には…、
チームメートの工藤選手も使っていました（96年）。
他のチームでは…、
京都サンガのAlexandre選手も履いていたようです。
ただ、かなり探さないと見つからないぐらい、使用されていた時期も短く、使用選手もわずかだったと思われますので、2012年まで履き続けた中山選手はかなりこだわりが強かったと思われます。

It is no exaggeration to say that the PARA MEXICO is the legendary football boots of Puma in Japan.
The history of the PARA MEXICO can be traced back to 1985. The PARA MEXICO was developed for the Japanese players of that time who were aiming at the World Cup in Mexico in 1986, and it is a limited model born in Japan. The name “Let’s go to Mexico” is derived from this.
At the time, Japan did not have a professional football league and the national team was not very strong. However, the PARA MEXICO made its debut in the crucial match against South Korea, where if the team won the final qualifying round, it would participate in its first World Cup.
Unfortunately, Japan was defeated in that match and did not participate in the World Cup for the first time.
Since then, the PARA MEXICO has been in production and is a favourite of many Japanese football players.
It is not exported to other countries, so I think it is an unknown model in the world.
I hope it is widely used outside of Japan as well, but recently it has been discontinued.
The design is old, but it is very functional, and it is a very good model that Maradona had used for a while.
I hope that it will be reissued someday.
Over a period of about 35 years, many different types of PARA MEXICO were produced.
